The Wanbo T2 Max is a budget-friendly Full HD LED projector that boasts both a compact size and lightweight design. It offers a marked improvement over a previous model, the EZCast V3, which also had a compact design but was limited to 720p resolution. As one of the best value Full HD projectors in its price range, the T2 Max from Wanbo is a top choice.

Design and appearance
The Wanbo T2 Max is a really small projector that fits easily in one hand.
The design of most LED projectors is similar to each other: the lens is located in the front, all the connectors are in the back, and the speakers are on the sides.
The only difference between the T2 Max and other models is that it is taller than it is wide. Device dimensions 15×14×11 cm, weight – 900 grams. Thanks to this, it can be placed anywhere and easily moved from room to room.
The design is pleasant: the case has a white matte finish, except for the black glossy area around the lens and the light gray panel with connectors on the back. There is a silver sticker with technical information on the bottom, but you will rarely see it.
There are four rubber feet on the underside of Xiaomi Wanbo T2 Max to prevent the projector from sliding on the surface, but their height is not adjustable. In the same place in the middle there is a universal hole for a tripod.
The build quality of the T2 Max is okay, especially for this segment, but it could be better. There are small gaps at the junctions of the front, back and sides, and the projector appears to be hastily assembled.
Visually, it is imperceptible, but you can feel it with your hands. In addition, the wheel at the top wobbles a little even while carrying the device.
Management and connection
Management of Wanbo T2 Max is simple, comes down to a few basic operations.
Focusing can be adjusted with a small wheel on the top side of the body, behind it is the power button. The projector is configured using the remote control, which requires two AAA batteries.
There are few buttons on the remote: the central one activates the cursor, and the movement is carried out through the direction keys, which is useful in some applications.
On the back of the T2 Max is an HDMI and USB port, next to it is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and external speakers.
Operating system
Like many cheap LED projectors, the Wanbo T2 Max runs Android 6.
It is not only outdated, but also not optimized for such devices – for example, in the settings you can find the “About phone” section. However, the interface is simple and there are several apps to choose from on the main page.
By default, recommendations from YouTube are displayed, and you can download video services from the app store, although Netflix and Amazon Prime are already installed by default.
With 16 GB of internal storage, you don’t have to worry about external storage.
Although most applications load slowly and many are not optimized for remote control, they are still usable.
Projector Brightness
There is no official information about the brightness of the Wanbo T2 Max – it seems that there is nothing to brag about here either.
Each manufacturer evaluates the brightness of their projectors differently, in practice a lot depends on the ambient light and screen. In daylight, there is no point in using the Wanbo projector, because the brightness is not enough.
But in a dark room with a small screen, everything looks much better, and you can easily enjoy your favorite movie late at night. The source is an LED lamp, the service life of which is 20,000 hours. If this is true, the projector will break rather than burn out the lamp.
Image quality
Wanbo T2 Max can play videos in full HD quality.
The T2 Max is different from many Chinese manufacturers who shamelessly list Full HD or even 4K resolution in their projector ads, even though the projected image is clearly not up to the advertised quality.
Of course, in times of ubiquitous 4K, this is not impressive, but still good, given the price. However, be careful – there is a Wanbo T2 model (without “Max”) on sale with support for only 720p, it is slightly lower, but the image quality is inferior to T2 Max.
Noise and cooling
Loud fan noise is a problem for many inexpensive LED projectors, which can ruin your movie experience.
There is no official information about the noise level of Xiaomi Wanbo T2 Max, but in reality it is about 30 dB. This is almost the limit value, after which the noise becomes too strong.
If you do not set the volume to maximum, you will hear how the T2 Max works. After some time, the sound becomes background, but still a little distracting. Alas, you will have to face such a problem when buying any budget projector.
Wanbo T2 Max sound quality
In T2 Max, Wanbo installed two speakers with a power of 3 W, the poet and the sound they have is appropriate.
The speakers seem especially weak when watching action movies and action films – the sound lacks energy and bass. They are not suitable for listening to music, at least the dialogues of people sound acceptable. The output can be the connection of external speakers via a 3.5 mm jack.

Outcome
The Wanbo T2 Max LED projector is a decent option for its price range, however, it does have a few limitations. One of the biggest issues is the loud noise produced by the fans, which is common among budget models. The outdated Android 6 operating system may not be the latest, but it does not affect the functionality of popular streaming services. Additionally, the image brightness is not very high, so it’s best to watch movies in complete darkness, and the speakers are not very powerful.
Benefits

Is it worth buying
The Wanbo T2 Max more than compensates for its limitations with its Full HD image reproduction. Its lightweight and compact design make it easy to position in any space, and at such an affordable price, it’s challenging to find a better option in its price range.
