Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red has not yet announced the working title of the upcoming saga, so for the near future we will be using a mental shortcut with a “four” at the end. However, this does not change the fact that a new game is coming, which means that many questions arise within us. One of them is those relating to the main character of the saga.

The Witcher 4 will be a breath of fresh air
The announcement of the new game from the The Witcher series appeared on Monday and immediately went around the Internet. Fans of the series flocked to the CD Projekt Red website. This resulted, of course, in the portal crash. Two days have passed since then, the dust is slowly falling, and players have a lot of time to sort everything out.
We already know that the phrase The Witcher 4 is wrong, because the new game in the series will be a completely separate saga. This does not mean, however, that we will not meet the old heroes.
Exactly … old heroes. The sense of RPGs is to control a character, and since The Witcher 4 will most likely take us into a new story, a new protagonist will also welcome us there .
Good old Geralt may fade into the shadows, but knowing CD Projekt Red, even if that happens, keep your eyes peeled and look out for the numerous easter eggs. Returning, however, to the topic – who should we play in The Witcher 4 ?
Option 1: Ciri
The graphics that lead us to this trail herald a new saga. The medallion lying in the snow represents the Witcher School of the Cat’s Guild . The identical ‘pendant’ is one of Ciri’s attributes. Making a gray-haired woman the main character of a new game would definitely be a tribute to the predecessors. However, this does not mean that it is an ideal solution.
First of all, it should be noted that Ciri was already a playable character in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt . An interesting issue seems to be the one relating to the heroine’s skills. Ciri did not use even ‘signs’ then. This means that compared to the previous installments , the gameplay and, above all, the combat system could change dramatically .
On top of all this, there is also the question of the ending of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt . Originally, the game ended in many different ways, depending on the will of the player. Not wanting to spoil the finale of the story, let’s move on to the second solution that CD Projekt Red may decide on.
Option 2: your own Witcher
This is a very likely solution. It is especially important to take into account the “fashion” for creating your own characters in RPG games and the fact that the studio decided to use such a solution in the case of Cyberpunk 2077 . CD Projekt Red has already created a very accessible and advanced hero creator, so why not use it for the latest product?
Such a solution would “free” producers from the need to write special scenarios for the continuation of the story from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt . There are so many advantages and disadvantages to creating your own character. First of all, players could finally let their imagination run wild, create a hero like themselves and travel through the wonderful world of The Witcher .
On the other hand, it can be said that the character of Geralt was one of the driving forces of the trilogy . Players from all over the world began to identify with the main character, and his image was directly associated with the entire saga.
Despite the fact that Geralt was a character entered in the game code, he differed from any other Geralt controlled by the next player. It’s not even about modifying your hair or beard. First of all, we are talking about the actions of people who themselves decided what The Witcher they want to be .
Option 3: Multiple Heroes
Solution number three is straight out of Grand Theft Auto V. CD Projekt Red could undoubtedly opt for such a solution. Then players could play as Ciri as well as new (or already known) heroes .
This solution gives producers a lot of possibilities. In terms of combat, it can be a team game, where one of the protagonists supplements the deficiencies of the other. There are really many ideas …
We are mainly driven by the success of the above-mentioned Grand Theft Auto V. The game of changing the characters we currently control has proved to be great there.
To this must also be added the different characters of the individual characters . Introducing such a solution to the Witcher universe seems really tempting. But would it work in a dark world where danger lurks at every turn?
The Witcher 4 who is the main character?
Unfortunately for us – CD Projekt Red has not yet revealed any information about the plot of the new game , and the above three options are just guesswork.
We can only be sure that The Witcher 4 is currently one of the most anticipated games on the market . Introducing a breath of freshness to the series, which at the same time will not destroy the world presented in the previous three installments, can certainly be a plus for everyone.
