Nothing is a brand that wants to prove at every step that it is unique and … it reminds us of the beginnings of OnePlus. Such comparisons will drag on for a long time to come, but it’s no wonder. After all, Nothing is Carl Pei, the co-founder of a mathematical company. Today’s premiere of Nothing Phone (1) also resembles the release of the first OnePlus models, although the experience gathered did not go to the forest. This applies not only to Carl Pei himself, because the company’s ranks also include former employees of Google, Apple, Twitch and other companies related to the mobile market.
In this way, you have a long-awaited smartphone in front of you, which clearly stands out with its design, but not only. What was known, but important and worth emphasizing at the very beginning – Nothing Phone (1) is also officially available.

The premiere of Nothing Phone (1) – because design counts, but not only
Of course, the first thing that catches the eye when we look at Nothing Phone (1) is the design of this smartphone. The company does not want to fight for the customer with its flagship specification with breakthrough elements, which we will talk about later. It was also shown by the first product of this manufacturer, i.e. the Nothing Ear headphones (1), which Bruno reviewed for you.
Take it easy, this time Nothing doesn’t get shredded and as part of the premiere of Phone (1) we immediately got to know two color versions – black and white. Regardless of the choice, we are talking about an extensive project that is also ecological. The body is made of 100% recycled aluminum. In turn, half of the plastic elements are materials of biological origin or also from recycling. Meanwhile, the front and back are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Appearance is important, but functionality also matters. That is why the presented design, which you will assess according to your taste (share your opinion in the comments), has over 900 LEDs . Their task is not only to stand out on the street, but also to be useful, because we are talking about an extensive notification system. This applies to both the charging process, information about connections, and cooperation with applications. The whole thing has been called Glyph Interface and allows, among other things, to associate a specific bell with a specific person and the LED lighting pattern.
Speaking of software, Nothing OS appears on board, which focuses on cleanliness and the absence of unnecessary additions. The company wants Nothing Phone (1) to be the center of everything and make it all consistent with each other. Regardless of third-party applications, we will be able to control smart home from one interface, but also … operate cars close to Elon Musk, i.e. Tesla. Of course, this is just the beginning of talks with third companies.
In addition, Nothing strongly integrates NFT collections with the possibility of tracking their prices. The icing on the cake in terms of the system is a guarantee of 3 years of major updates (up to Android 15 inclusive) and 4 years of support in the field of security packages (every 2 months).

Going in turn, the company certainly did not save on the display, which was evenly mounted on the front panel and can boast above-average parameters. The computing system actually makes its debut in the Nothing Phone (1), but remembering that the Snapdragon 778G is a highly praised and successful unit, its overclocked version can maintain a good opinion.
In terms of cameras, we will certainly appreciate the lack of unnecessary matrices, but we will get to know the details regarding the quality of photos and videos (the review is just around the corner). Nevertheless, we are talking about a top matrix from Sony and an above-average one from Samsung, so you can be positive.
Theoretically average is the size of the battery and the rate of its charging. Nevertheless, the availability of induction (this also distinguishes 778G + from 778G) may mitigate slower regeneration for some people. You already know that the workmanship is above average, and it’s hard to find any deficiencies in the rest of the technical specifications. To sum up, the specification of Nothing Phone (1) reveals that it is a strong medium with aspirations.
Price and availability of Nothing Phone (1) in US
The world presentation of Nothing Phone (1) though it’s not getting a widespread release in the US. The open sale starts on July 21 – earlier, the smartphone will be available for purchase only by randomly selected persons. But how much does it all cost? The price of the Nothing Phone (1) depends of course on the specific version , and these are as follows:
- 8/128 GB: £399 approximately $475 USD
- 8/256 GB: £449 approximately $535 USD

Nothing wants to be an eco-company, so you won’t find a power adapter in the set – only a USB-C cable is available. However, due to the fact that the smartphone is compatible with the most popular fast charging standards, finding the right plug should not be a problem. There is also no case in the box, but the screen already has a protective foil. If you missed the presentation, nothing is lost:
