Disney and a list of upcoming movies
The plans of The Walt Disney Company are really impressive. The corporation plans to release dozens of films and series in the coming months . The Americans’ assumptions include the premieres of such titles as Indiana Jones 5, Aladdin 2 or Hocus Pocus 2. Additionally, Disney does not intend to depart from its roots, so the list of animated films is equally impressive. Below you will find a list of productions that are to debut on the big and small screen (Disney + streaming service) in 2022 and 2023.
Chip ‘N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers
The movie was created using a method similar to the one we saw in Space Match 2 . Two of the world’s most famous squirrels will return in a highly refreshed version. Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers will be a combination of animation and a full-length action movie . John Mulaney will play the role of Chip in the original soundtrack and Andy Samberg will play Dale. The premiere of the film on May 20 on Disney + .
Buzz Lightyear
The production, referring to Toy Story , will go to cinemas on June 17 . The film will introduce us to the character of Buzz Lightyear , who is one of the main characters of the above-mentioned animation. Interestingly, both productions will share a 27-year difference between the release dates.
Strange World
Another movie on the list has been announced, but we still know very little about the plot itself . An important point, however, seems to be the fact that Qui Nguyen is responsible for writing the script for Strange World , who in his CV includes works on another Disney animation – Ray and the Last Dragon .
Disenchanted
2007’s sequel to Enchanted , starring Amy Adams. In the second part of the film, the cast will almost certainly see the Italian-born actress again. She will also feature the familiar faces of Patrick Dempsey , who plays Robert, and James Marsden , who plays the role of Prince Edward. Everything indicates that the family film will be released this year.
Hocus pocus 2
The second sequel in this ranking , this time of a much older production, because of the movie Hokus Pokus from 1993 . The second installment of the family comedy will go to Disney + later this year. Interestingly, both the movie from the 90s and the sequel will feature a trio – Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najima .
Pinocchio
This time the boy made of wood will be as alive as never before! The actor’s film is to be directed by Robert Zemckins himself, and the role of the “father” of the title character, Gepetto, will be played by Tom Hanks himself . The cast also includes names such as Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Luke Evans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cynthia Erivo, Keegan Michael-Key and Lorraine Bracco. The premiere of the film will most likely take place in September .
A night at the museum: Kahmunrah is rising
The fourth part of the series with Ben Stiller in the lead role. Unfortunately, we do not know much about the plot of the film at the moment. The premiere of Disney’s production is to take place via the proprietary streaming service later this year . The director of the previous three parts of the series, Shawn Levy , this time limited himself only to the role of the producer of the film.
Indiana Jones 5
We are moving to 2023, and here we are waiting for the premiere of even the fifth and perhaps the last part of the Indiana Jones adventures. The title role is once again played by the reliable Harrison Ford , who will turn 80 this year! Indiana Jones 5 has been in the making over the past few years, but the latest news shows that shooting is over and now the crew is in post-production. Premiere? Already on June 30, 2023 .
The little Mermaid
The remake of the cult animation in the actor’s version is to hit theaters in May next year. The director of the new Little Mermaid is Rob Marshall, who in his output has such titles as Confessions of a Geisha, Nine – Nine or Chicago . The main role of Ariel will be played by 21-year-old actress and singer – Halle Bailey .
Aladdin 2
The first part of the 2019 movie received positive reviews, so it’s no wonder Disney decided to produce a sequel. Currently , the project is at a very early stage of development , so we do not know if it will include actors known to us from the first part of the film (Will Smith or Mena Massoud).
