In the old days, there was a category of hardware known as the Pocket PC. And yes, most devices bearing such a designation were rather something like smartphones, but without the possibility of calling. So we had an ARM processor and Windows Pocket – the ancestor of Windows Mobile (not to be confused with Windows 10 Mobile) based on Windows CE, i.e. the system found in old computer navigations … In total, it was so long ago that we are talking about equipment so outdated that direct references are also made to heavily outdated equipment.

Okay, but there were also Pocket PCs with large Windows, although it was very rare and very expensive hardware, which differed from the UMPC in that it was controlled via a touch screen, and at the same time was smaller than tablets – which of course already existed on early this millennium (and I don’t mean graphics tablets), but they were big, heavy, and clunky.
But let’s end the references to the past and look to the future: the latest Pocket PC with Windows 11 has specs that can compete with budget laptops. Thus, we find the Intel Celeron J4125 chip in it. It is a processor from the Gemini Lake family produced in the Intel 14nm technological process. It consists of four cores, four threads and can operate at a frequency of up to 2.7 GHz in boost mode . It also has an integrated Intel UHD600 chip, and its TDP is 10W. You can also choose the Celeron N4000, but it will not necessarily be a good choice.
The big advantage of the device is 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM on the motherboard – unfortunately, in single-channel mode. The variety of ports on the device is impressive. Here, not only the new Macbook should be ashamed, and most laptops on the market. The set includes two full-size HDMI 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0, one USB-C, Ethernet, ComboJack. There was also a built-in microphone, loudspeaker, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and a microSD card slot. Only a full-size PC can embarrass this little one.

All this is closed in a 14x9x1.7 cm housing. Inside we will also find a 5000 mAh battery, and on the top there is a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels . Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not provide the weight of the equipment. In terms of price, the N4000 model was priced at $ 200, while the J4125 model was priced at $ 230.
